The fine print, kept short.
By using ROLL you agree to these terms. They cover how events work, what you can shoot, and the responsibilities of hosts and guests.
1. The service
ROLL lets a host create a shared, event-based disposable camera. Guests join with the host’s link or QR, take a limited number of photos, and no photo is visible to anyone until the host develops the roll at reveal time.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Hosts sign in with Apple, Google, or an email magic link and are responsible for activity on their account. Guests do not create an account and join only for the specific event they were invited to.
3. Purchases
Events are purchased in-app through the App Store or Google Play; this website never takes payment. Pricing is based on guest count, and every guest always receives their full set of frames regardless of tier. Refunds are handled by the relevant app store under its policies.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos you take. You grant ROLL the limited license needed to store, process (including applying the chosen film look and generating thumbnails), and display your photos to the event’s participants according to the host’s reveal and web-access settings. You are responsible for the content you capture and share.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use ROLL to capture or share unlawful, harmful, or non-consensual content, to infringe others’ rights, or to interfere with the service. Hosts are responsible for having an appropriate basis to photograph their guests and may moderate, hide, or remove photos from their event.
6. Host responsibilities
Hosts control their event’s settings, including reveal timing and whether guests keep access or can view a web gallery afterward. Hosts should make guests aware that photos will be revealed and how they can be viewed.
7. Availability & changes
We work to keep ROLL reliable but provide it “as is” without warranties, to the extent permitted by law. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may revise these terms — material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROLL is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost photos arising from misuse, device failure, or factors outside our reasonable control.
9. Termination
You may stop using ROLL at any time, and hosts may delete events and their account in the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.
